About

Welcome to Caitlin McCracken, an award-winning sustainable knitwear brand rooted in the heart of County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Here, we believe in creating more than just beautiful knitwear, we craft pieces that are made to last. With a deep commitment to quality over quantity, each item is thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted with care and attention to detail.

At Caitlin McCracken, we embrace the principles of slow fashion, creating timeless pieces that will be loved for years to come. Our focus on sustainability means we take extra steps to minimise waste, using responsibly and locally sourced materials and ethical practices at every stage of production.
Every knit tells a story of craftsmanship, dedication, and respect for the environment. Join us in celebrating quality, longevity, and the beauty of conscious design.

Meet Caitlin

The hands behind the brand, Caitlin first discovered her love for knitting as passed down from her Nanny Pearl- who continues to be her main inspiration.

After graduating from university, and with no idea where to go next, Caitlin followed what felt most naturally to her, which was knitting.

Caitlin won Best Green Business in The Women in Business awards 2025, a positive step forward to continue her efforts in choosing slow, ethical fashion.

Caitlin posts her rambles on The Woolgathering Diaries that you can read here:

Handcrafted in Armagh

Each and every Caitlin McCracken knit is handcrafted in Caitlin's home studio in County Armagh in small quantities. If you would like to try your hand at machine knitting, Caitlin provides machine knitting classes that you can book here:

Wonderful wool

We are dedicated to only using 100% natural wool that is responsibly sourced and Woolmark Certified from Donegal as part of our efforts in being a sustainable knitwear brand.

It is important to care for your wool properly to ensure that it continues to look as fabulous as it did when you first bought it. Read our tips on how to best care for your wool:
